Last Week's Adventure

S'ok, another month and very little posting. I'm hoping to do some new pics soon but I wanted to share something that happened to me last week.

So last Tuesday, I had told a friend of mine that that I'd help her and her boyfriend move into a new apartment in Chicago from where we are, Dekalb. Dekalb isn't a very long time away, it's like an hour or so drive if you take the tollway and take the right roads. Since I've never driven to Chicago on my own I was designated a navigator. She was a great navigator and we got to my friend's place and we started moving things. There were a couple problems. One, My friend's apartment is on the third floor of this complex, Two, she has a lot of stuff in a lot of different cars who came to help, and three, it was blazing hot in Chicago that day. Needless to say, a lot of us who were helping got winded very quickly and also very sweaty. I changed from my white tee which I was wearing to my light hooded button up shirt.

About halfway into unloading, my navi was really tired and really hungry. Both of us hadn't eaten since breakfast. I was still about to keep going but she wasn't doing so hot and went home with one of my other friends who had to get back to Dekalb so he could get to work. I did this not thinking about the fact that I'm not used to city driving and barely know my way out of Chicago. By the time I left my friend's new place, it was like 4:47 pm and traffic really came hard. I quickly got lost and found my way to chinatown before stopping in canal street and making my way back to my friend's place for directions.

She gave me some new directions and I left. About on my way to the tollway, guess what happens?...it starts to rain and rain hard. It was pouring and starting hailing a little. It rained so hard that I missed my turn and eventually stopped in Palos Park. I stopped at a Shell Gas Station, got some water and a payday bar(I still hadn't eaten at this point), waited for the storm to lighten up and got some directions to I-88. Unfortunately when I'm on my way again, another storm breaks out and makes me miss my turn again and I end up in Lemont. I stop at another gas station and get directions from another guy and I eventually get to I-88 and home again. By the time I got home, it was like 11:15 at night. I had meant to get a shower and get clean but I was so tired I just had some tea and cereal and turned in.

Now I'm not posting this out of anger or anything like that. Just mention a strange little experience I had. It was a horrible experience at the time since I was tired, hungry, and scared since I had no idea where I was going but after about a week, It's just kind of a funny experience that I wanted to share with you guys.
